New Gradient Yarn Base - 410 Yards of 100% Peruvian Wool, 2 ply, 3.5 oz / 100 g, fingering/sport (borderline).

Pearl ranges from a soft pink to pale champagne into shades of grey. It's a brand new limited colorway River's Edge Fiber Arts offers and looks great on everyone.

Each skein has multiple hours of processing into it, from creating the blank to dyeing, to an additional 3 more steps in the winding/drying process.

This brand new yarn base has intermittent lengths of grey ply and black ply in the twist (does not affect the diameter at all, it's part of the initial singles process before being plied and it looks lovely giving it almost a "Zauberball" with depth affect). Look closely at the skein of yarn and you will be able to see the subtle nuances. I love it!

This is a lovely yarn with a soft hand.

When asked regarding what size needles, my recommendation is to start with a 4-5, knit a sample and look for "soft and squishy" if your sample is firm, or there is no drape, then you would want to go up in size, consider it your personal private measurement, because the size you use is the right one for you.

The pattern for the "triangle shawl" is included with your purchase, which starts from the center neck down, so there is literally no wasted yarn. This quantity of yarn will create a shawlette size piece.

Just remember to allow for cast off. Gradients are suitable for so many lovely projects.

Carol Larsen (me) used it in weaving and will be introducing a new winding technique that involves gradients where you end up with slowly moving multiple "striping" across the warp. It's a pretty amazing technique developed out of the days where I love to experiment with "what-if-I" do this. Sometimes really great things happen.

PHOTOS: 2nd photo is the included free "Triangle" shawl pattern. Get more than one and combine them together to create one large project.
